Vita
The dominant visual symbol in the images of Like Guangqing is the Red Wall. As far as his image content shows traditional representations, these stand for the old moral and ethical norms. This old culture is uniform and impersonal. It suffocates creativity and individuality in society – then as now.
in many pictures, Wei juxtaposes old and new and mixes them into new configurations. The motif of the wall has been combined with the current iconography, and this combination creates a new meaning and context. The wall no longer serves as a tool of demarcation, but as a canvas for the new images of today’s media world.
